I was so excited to learn that ice cream rolls and liquid nitrogen ice cream were coming to my little neck of the woods in North Olmsted, Ohio! Sweet Freeze opened on Saturday, August 12th at Great Northern Mall and from this point forward I will never look at ice cream the same way again! It is the smoothest and creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted!!

The Akron Zoo Has Become Sensory Inclusive!

Our family has always loved the Akron Zoo. We have appreciate how they are so family friendly and customer focused. They have now added another wonderful feature that will allow even more people to enjoy the zoo!! The Akron Zoo is now sensory inclusive. In fact they are now the first zoo in Ohio and the second zoo in the country to be sensory inclusive.Yeah!!!

Oh comes HOME!

Thanks to gofobo and Regal Theatres we got a sneak peek of the movie HOME. Such a cute movie. HOME is a DreamWorks Animation, 20th Century Fox production. With a cast full of stars including Jim Parsons, Rihanna, Steve Martin ans Jennifer Lopez how can you go wrong.

"I've Had the Time of My Life" with Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage

I had the pleasure of seeing Dirty Dancing- The Classic Story on Stage at the Connor Palace Theater at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio last weekend. What a wonderful performance in a beautiful venue. I was super excited to see this stage presentation, being an epic Dirty Dancing fan. The play did not disappoint.

Slip Sliding Away!

This has been an extremely cold and snowy winter. We are way past stir crazy in the Novak household. We have tried every imaginable way to stay warm yet active this winter. We are loving the City of Westlake Recreation Center! From swimming lessons to indoor soccer class and even Young Rembrandts art class for Joel, we are there! They have so much to offer in a family friendly environment.

We are big fans of the Young Rembrandts program in our house. It has turned Joel into an aspiring artist. It gives him confidence, teaches listening skills and following directions, helps with fine motor skills and what's more gives him a fun creative outlet for all his energy! Young Rembrandts operates nationwide and serves kids as young as 3 1/2 through elementary school age. They offer classes and summer camps. Our program is housed in our local recreation center which makes it very convenient! Have a young artist in your house? Check out their website for locations and offerings!

Dinner and a Movie Night at Home with Big Hero 6

Big Hero 6 hit Blu-Ray/DVD today. Jude and Joel were so excited to see it at Target today. I was too because I haven't seen it yet. Grandma, Uncle Mike and Miss Cassy took Jude and Joel to see to movie when it came out. It is one of the first that I have missed seeing with them and they haven't let me live it down. They could hardly wait to watch it. They got in PJ's quickly and I made homemade pizza for dinner and a movie!

In our efforts to stay out of the cold and have some fun yet educational playtime, we headed to the mall and The Painted Penguin. What is The Painted Penguin? It is a family friendly place to create cool artwork that you can take home the same day!

Cold Outside? It's Always Warm at Great Wolf Lodge!

Last week was Joel's 5th Birthday. We had almost an entire week of celebration! Part of this was a great stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky. Joel loves Great Wolf Lodge and asks to celebrate his birthday there every year instead of a party. While he enjoys splashing in the water, his real excitement comes from Magiquest! Great Wolf Lodge is the only place in our area to play Magiquest so we make the trek at least once or twice a year.

We headed to a matinee on Presidents Day with our friends Ms. Kristin and Aidan. What fun we had seeing the new The SpongeBob Movie- Sponge Out Of Water. An evil pirate has stollen the Krabby Patty formula for his food truck and it is up to SpongeBob and Plankton to team up to save the day.
