I had the pleasure of seeing Dirty Dancing- The Classic Story on Stage at the Connor Palace Theater at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio last weekend. What a wonderful performance in a beautiful venue. I was super excited to see this stage presentation, being an epic Dirty Dancing fan. The play did not disappoint.
Of course there is no competing with the amazing connection of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the original film. It is near impossible to recreate the passionate magic shared between the two. This being said, the stage show was fantastic. The dancing was spectacular. The music was as memorable as ever. The love story of Baby and Johnny was of course captivating! And the use of digital backdrops helped create the outdoor water scenes, which I would have otherwise thought impossible to replicate.
Dirty Dancing is playing at the the Connor Place Theater at Playhouse Square through Sunday, March 22, 2015. If you get a chance definitely go see it! Not in the Cleveland area? Click here to see if it's coming to a theater near you. And remember, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!"
