Last summer, we were so honored to be invited by Visit Fort Wayne to come spend the day with them during their Family FAM trip. It was such a neat experience that we had to tell everyone about our Family Fun in Fort Wayne! So when Visit Fort Wayne asked us if we wanted to come back again this summer for two nights, we couldn't say "YES" fast enough! We will be packing up for the family fun filled road trip next week and we hope you follow along with us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Until then, we thought we would tell you our top four reasons we are excited to be returning to Fort Wayne and how you can win your very own Summer Getaway to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Location
Fort Wayne is in the heart of the Midwest. It is approximately 200 miles from our home just outside Cleveland, Ohio. Taking a little over 3 1/2 hours, it makes for a nice family road trip. It is far enough away that the kids call it a vacation, but not too far that we are stir crazy even before we arrive!Take a peek at the distance from these other Midwest cities. I think you will be surprised how quick and easy it is to get to Fort Wayne!

Family Friendly
One of the main reasons we enjoy Fort Wayne is because it is so family friendly. It is not only easy to get there, but also easy to navigate once you arrive. We loved parking the car and walking downtown and taking in the beautiful architecture the city has to offer.
There is something everyone will love! On our last trip we explored the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo and Science Central. Two fabulous places kids and adults will enjoy playing! This time we are hoping to get to take a walk through the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory or maybe take in a TinCaps game at Parkview Field- we tried last time but the weather had other ideas :)
Fabulous Festivals
Did you know that Fort Wayne is host to many family friendly events in festivals all year round? You can CLICK HERE to see a list of all the upcoming activities. This trip we specifically scheduled so that we could experience both the Three Rivers Festival and St. Joe Pickle Festival.
The Three Rivers Festival is a a long standing tradition in Fort Wayne, starting in 1969. This years festival is scheduled from July 13th-21st. Fantastic Food
If you follow us on social media or have visited this site more than once, you know we like to eat. We politely call ourselves foodies but really it's more than that! You name it, we'll try it!
From food trucks to festivals, drinks at a local watering hole to a hotdog at the ballpark, Fort Wayne has it all. Our last trip we sought out some Fort Wayne sweet treats at Yummi Bunni and DeBrand Fine Chocolates. What will this trip have store for us? Maybe a trip to Mad Anthony Brewing Company or snack at Rise n' Roll Bakery. Time will only tell.

I'm so jealous that you're going to Three Rivers. I haven't been in at least a decade. It was one of my favorite festivals, along with Greek Fest and the Johnny Appleseed Festival.
