Now Posting on BlogHer

Posted by:

When I started this site it wasn't because of my fascination of blogging, but rather more as a way to document the time I spend with my family and create opportunities for fun activities. However, I have recently become very infatuated with this medium and all that it entails. I enjoy the freedom of expressing my thoughts and sharing my ideas with others. The experience has become very fulfilling. So much so that I have been looking for additional avenues to expand my blogging repertoire.

Do You Like Our New Look?

Posted by:

So I have been hard at work the last couple of days giving the site its long awaited update.  If you have had some issues accessing it, I apologize for any inconvenience, but I hope you like the new look! Some of the changes are merely cosmetic. A face lift if you will.  I've cleaned up some of the clutter to make it easier to read.  I also rearranged some of the info to make it easier to find us when you need us or want to share.

Edible Cleveland Making Northeast Ohio A Little Sweeter One Bite at a Time

Posted by:

Are you familiar with Edible Cleveland?  It is a wonderful print and digital publication highlighting all the must have food products and must visit food spots in Cleveland.  It is published quarterly and offers great inspirations to all levels of foodies who live, work or just play in the area.

I recently picked up my copy of the Summer 2014 publication. Immediately I found an article near and dear to my heart about blueberries. What a wonderful article by Karin McKenna about the Nabor Family, owners of the fabulous Mustard Seed Markets and Blueberry Hill Farm a certified organic pick your own blueberry farm in Glenmont, Ohio.

Included in the article was a recipe for Blueberry Almond Flour Muffins.  This recipe spoke to my newly required reduced carbohydrate diet.  As an added bonus to many they are gluten free.  I had to immediately try them!  My children like items made with nut flours but do not like chopped nuts in bakery so I substituted the chopped pecans for dried blueberries which added a very nice texture in the muffin.  These muffins were simply delicious!!

Have we sparked your interest in Edible Cleveland?  Want to get a copy for yourself?  Here is a link to their Summer 2014 Digital Edition.  Complimentary print copies can be found at many local Cleveland establishments which can be located here.  Paid print subscriptions are also available if you don't live in the area and want a print copy delivered directly to your home.

You can also stay informed with everything Edible Cleveland has to offer by following them on Edible Cleveland Facebook Page or on Twitter .  Let them know we sent you!

Happy Wives Club Blog Tour

Posted by:

Hi everyone. Just saw a Tweet about a new book soon to be released the Happy Wives Club: One Woman's Worldwide Search for the Secrets of a Great Marriage. That tweet led me to search out Fawn Weaver's site Happy Wives Club and ultimately to the inspiration to for the post the Happy Wives Club Blog Tour.

So visiting the site and reading about this book got me thinking about my marriage. Believe it or not my husband Steve does exist even though there really are not pictures of him on the blog. He is usually the man behind the camera (he prefers it that way). And while he supports me and the blog and takes part in most of our fun and sometimes unexpectedly outrageous activities, he prefers to remain behind the scenes enjoying the moments rather than memorializing them for the world to share.

Exploring Other Bloggers

Posted by:

In the last couple of weeks I have increased my focus back to the blog.  In doing so I realized that there are a lot of great blogs out there.  Sometimes we get so focused on ourselves we don't look at what is right in front of us.  I have come across a few really good blogs as I was trying to increase my twitter followers.  This got me exploring and wanting more.

So I have decide that while it is great to write about what we are doing and loving, I also wanted to start to spread the word about what others are doing.  I have started a list at the side of our blog that will scroll some of the latest stories of blogs I am currently following.  It by no means will be a complete list but it will rotate and give the most recent blog posts.  I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I do and will explore and follow some of them yourself.  If I find a blog that I am really loving I hope to feature it in a blog post.

Also I would love tips as to what blogs you are reading or writing that you think we should take a peek at. Please forward them my way either through my blog directly, via email, our Facebook Page and/or Twitter.
