Elephant Ears and Beers

Posted by:

So tonight was the first night of the St. Bernadette's Festival in Westlake.  We have been parishioners of the church since moving to Westlake a little less than three years ago.  So the festival is becoming a family tradition.  (Prior to moving to Westlake we lived in Parma where we attended St Anthony of Padua. We love their carnival as well which was a few weeks ago.  Fun time!).

Well tonight Steve and I went to the festival with my brother and his girlfriend.  A good time was had by all.  We enjoyed a talented yet eclectic band.  We had wings- messy but tasty- washed down with some fabulous local beer- Great Lakes Dortmunder.  It was dollar beer night at the fair.  How can you beat dollar Great Lakes (you can't!)  Along with an elephant ear topped with blueberry it was a festival match made in heaven.  Despite a little rain which didn't even damper the mood.

We will return to festival Saturday with the kids.  I'm sure some great family fun will be had.  So get out and support your local carnivals, fairs and festivals.  They are a enjoyable way to pass the summer days and nights!!
